Happy Father's Day!

Picture from Patron Saints Index
Kind of late already in most places, but Happy Father's Day to our dads and priests! Priests are fathers too! :-)

(a song again, but I couldn't find a video and YouTube is prohibited :-D but at least it makes a good poem)

Waiting in the Wing
Point of Grace

Hearts of hope seem hard to find these days
As darker deeds Have their time on center stage
We watch it all unfolding scene by scene
And a happy ending seems a fading dream
Fear and desperation have their day
At least until faith steps up to say

I believe though God is out of sight
He's working in the middle of all things
Evil may have its time in the spotlight
But love is waiting in the wings
Love is always waiting in the wings

It's your life as it plays out don't forget it
Heartache comes but the story’s not done yet
When shadows come, your courage wants to fade
But in a moment, everything can change

I believe though God is out of sight
He's working in the middle of all things
Evil may have its time in the spotlight
But love is waiting in the wings
Love is always waiting in the wings

There's always more to any story
Than just what's here and now
There's not one hopeless situation
That can't be turned around

I believe though God is out of sight
He's working in the middle of all things
Evil may have its time in the spotlight
But love is waiting in the wings
Love is always waiting in the wings

Saint Joseph worked very hard for his Holy Family. More often than not, he probably didn’t understand what was happening. Yet he worked on though he couldn’t see, trusting God in each event.
Happy Father’s Day to all hardworking fathers!
Oh, and please go to CT's for a special treat!

Answers

Sorry, I forgot to post the answers...
Here they are:

Blood and sweat on He so tired
The veil at hand; and so inspired,
I rushed then quick and pressed it fast
And beheld an image that would long last.
~Saint Veronica~

I traveled far where none would go
To depressed hearts and hopes bent low
Across the isle on mule did I ride
For Christ in every leper does reside
~Blessed Damian~

Hermit in my own garden near
Bearing the sufferings of Our Lord dear
Devoted to Saint Catherine in Italy
Entered Saint Dominic's as Tertiary

The Road Not Taken

The Road Not Taken
By Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

The “road goes ever on”, and one way or another a fork appears in it. Procrastination is often easy and sometimes what one tends to lean towards, especially when one is faced with a difficult decision. God helps oftentimes, like in this morning’s reading when the decision Elijah made was to follow His command. Other times it’s far from smooth sailing.
If it took Peter Pan “faith, trust, and pixie dust” to fly, perhaps for us it takes faith, trust, and prayer?

Just a silly little girl’s wayward wonderings but…
